An Oddball Altered Project!

It’s time for another Oddball Art Co. blog challenge! This time we were asked to create an altered project with one of the adorable Oddball Art Co. digis. I decided to make an altered tag with Big Eyed Zombie Chibi Girl No. 53. You can purchase her here at the Etsy shop. I created the tag by starting off with one of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine tags as a base. I then used a pink Perfect Pearls paint in a bright fuschia color. I added tissue paper, did some stenciling, used some Inka Gold in purple. I layered up the tag with a doily, washi, and some bling. I really like how the tag came out with all the bright purple and pinks. You can participate too in our challenge by joining us on the Oddball Art Co blog. The challenge runs from the 15th of this month until July 15th. Winner will be able to pick 3 digital stamps from the Etsy shop of their choice. Please go by the blog and check out all the other DT member’s projects and submit your altered project for a chance to win. Below I’ve included photos of my tag. Enjoy!

My poor neglected blog! After some computer problems like losing my whole hard drive (yikes!) I never got back to my blog like I should have. Heck…its a new year so why not start fresh now? I’ve still been crafting away and my most recent discovery is embossing. While not a new technique by any means, the process is new to me and I can’t get enough of it. I recently made a mini album for a friend and got a chance to emboss some stamped images to add to some of the pages.

My latest creation after the embossing bug bit me:

I simply took one of the Amy Tangerine wood cards and wanted to jazz it up a bit by stamping it with a cute heart patterned stamp. I then added pink embossing powder, used my heat tool and had a cute and revamped wood card to use for a layout or whatever else I choose.

And isn’t the negative space left from the embossing powder, oh so cute?

Here’s a photo of one of the pages

Here’s a photo of one of the pages of my Heidi Swapp memory file album. I absolutely love this thing. Full of uniquely patterned paper, all different shapes and sizes just ready to be scrapped up. I’ve only done a few pages but I’m treating it as a book that just showcases my loves, my life, anything that makes me tick or is quintessentially Crystal. This page is paying homage to my favorite rapper Slug from the group Atmosphere. I’ve listened to Atmosphere since my early 20s and just think he has a gift with words. I guess I’m big on lyrics since I’m a lover of words and a good book. ImageThe page is pretty simple. I used some craft paper, random 7gypsies scraps with music notes, some Amy Tangerine paper for the hand-cut pennants at the top. Nothing crazy. I attached them with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher (can I just say how much I adore this tool?) and stitched Love with the Amy Tangerine stencil embroidery kit, threw a little jewel bling on the page and used some Zebra print Thickers. I haven’t gotten too crazy with the Heidi Swapp book since the prints are loud (in an awesomely beautiful way) and I don’t want to have my layouts feeling like overkill. I’ll upload more photos of what I’ve done with the book as I go. Happy Scrapping Everyone!

So the story begins…

So this is the very first post on my blog! I started this so I can share all the scrapbook layouts I create, scrappy hauls, photos, and a dash of my life from time to time. Hey, it can only get better from here on out, right?
